Come my friends, share a toast
Share a million of those
Wash the dust and the smog
from your heads and your throats
Leave the bustle behind
leave the everyday trite
to the others outside
and come join us tonight

Come sit down, grab a chair
grab a glass, fill it up
drain the cup, pour it down
and rejoice in the flood
of familiar warmth
in your battered old veins
when the longed after fix
lulls your troublesome brains

Share a story, a thought
all you would keep inside
had it not been the muse
of your Whiskey tonight,
had it not been the power
of twelve years of rest
So be brave, tell a tale
make a joke, dare a jest

Come my friends, share a toast
Share a lifetime of those
Sing that off-key old song
through the fumes and the smoke
Stay an hour, an age
'til that pale morning light
greets us staggering home
Please, come join us tonight
