It trailed down the valley of my neck

and rose up to tickle the shell of my earlobe

each of my ribs were scraped from behind,

starting from the vertebrae

to the tips

near my lungs

(near my heart).

.

A daring sort of fancy took over my eyes

as they batted their lashes

and drawled lazy figurines over exposed flesh

Some unspoken agreement permitted this treading

into unfamiliar territory.

.

Breathy exhales and peeping giggles thread themselves in the air

only to be interrupted by teasing bites of chocolate

and the infant's suckling of milk

Ignore the bruised peach on the counter top, it was there for show anyways

Let it rest itself on the smooth and chill marble.

.

Don't say a word, don't speak

Just smell the atmosphere, and cup the heart murmurs tenderly

Unravel the feeble caresses until only

the bare apple core is left inside.
