Don't place me on a pedestal
From which I might fall
Don't think of me as I once was,
I'm not that person at all.

Instead think now of who I am
And what I could be then,
if we were together once again,
And if I were your man.

Holding you in my arms
would be of great delight.
Succumbing to your charms
would seem..Oh, So right.

So pull me from that pedestal
and look me in the eye.
Tell me I'm not your hero,
But maybe I'm your guy.
