Quite unlike a master's burin
this old pen of mine is
just a toyshop plaything - cheap
plastic, gaudy, not made to last -
yet like a child engrossed in

the short hour's game, wide-
eyed, playing away with no aim
other than immediate fulfilment
I find surplus delight in
what the thing might - just - do.
