People say the meanest things
even when we treat them like Kings

The words come out
as smooth as water from a spout

Words start out as empty and hollow as water
and then the harsher the words, the mood gets much hotter

You stand there in awe as the hateful words fly
but inside, it just makes you want to die.

Why do they say them?
Why do we date them?

There have to be better options out there
Someone to hold you and let you know that they care.

You'd give anything at that time and that place
to see and know that familiar face.

You stand up to say
You're not going to talk to me that way.

Where is that savior?
Why aren't they repaying that one big, huge favor?

I can find love out there
and he will thrive on remembering the scent of my hair.

This one is not the one
and the search seems to have re-begun.

Where do I find him?
And how do I weed out the "thems"?

Patience is of a virtue
just like paying your dues.

It seems you continue searching and searching
all the while, alone, your insides are hurting

Finally one day, that man comes along
and your heart is singing great songs.

This man can look in your eyes
unspoken knowledge that in days of old
you will still be his ultimate gold
without words, just love in his eyes.

With these unspoken words of great joy,
you feel like a child with a new Christmas toy.

You mesmerize yourself in the admiration
Set for yourself all the goals
Handle yourself like a truly great nation
And now, after catching a great man, everyone knows.

Your efforts seemed fruitless
and now in your heart there is a feeling of newness.
