I loved her
I still do
So long ago that I knew her
She was perfect
WE were perfect
A perfect match
A true love
I didn't understand then
She wanted another
I walked away
I thought I did the right thing
I was wrong
I wish I had fought
I could have
I should have
I didn't want to make her choose
She is with me
In my dreams
In my desires
In my heart
She will always be with me
But only in memory
I wish I could find her
Hold her one more time
Or just tell her
Tell her that she is my ideal
Perfection, in the form of woman
I'll never see her again
Maybe that's better
I'm not who I was then
I'm sure she's not who she was
Time passes, people change
We were perfect then
Now maybe not
Part of me wants to find out
But the other part
It wants to keep the perfect memories
I can't risk it
I'll keep the memories of perfection
Over the possible flaws of reality
She was my love
She still is
Memory is idealistic
Perfect
I'll take it
