One time vibrant, heart filled with love,
My spirits floated with the clouds above.
Opening my soul leaving all exposed,
Unveiling all that had been closed.

My passion for you burning bright,
All but extinguished in that one long night.
I do not know how things could have been worse,
The night I felt Medusa's curse.

When I heard you were at his place,
The news hit me like a slap in the face.
Eyes glazed over as I stood in a trance.
Evil visions my mind implants.

My eyes squeeze tight, my head droops low,
The beating of my heart begins to slow.
Never before have I felt so alone.
Within my chest I turn to stone.

And just before I petrify,
My eyes well up as I begin to cry.
Like a tragic figure of old Greek lore;
A statue now forevermore.
