Pissing in public is a crime
for which one can do jail time
and, put on probation,
lose the right to leave the land
that he works:
picking pears,
pumping gas,
or teaching class
But, see, my health is poor
and my bladder weak,
and I still wander downtown
especially at night
(frequently passed by cop cars)
and as the restrooms are all locked
I do the pissing crime sometimes
I must be a smooth criminal
as though I've offended since youth,
I've never been caught
Just the same,
they're after me
and not only for that:
I've put poetry above money,
ideas above respectability,
and have failed to worship the T.V.
leading to mighty vengeful earthquakes
They may be after you, too:
my advice is to keep a wary eye
to hide deep in the bushes,
and piss in golden defiance
