Poem for a Rose
The lines in her face
breasts empty of youthful perk
her stretch marks and
faint blue lines traced
under parchment-skin,
are signs of age and
life encounters.
Still beautiful in her nudity
to the lover for whom she waits,
the smile in her eyes
promises passion yet to come.
