Six people came from miles away
They came with open hearts
Six people ventured from their homes
To meet from different parts

Six people shared a love of write
A common ground for each
They came together for a time
To love and learn and teach

So here are they, those poets six
I introduce to you

Lea Ann

A smile so lovely, shining eyes
And hugs so warm and true
Lea Ann is just the kind of gal
That warms right up to you

Her legs are long, her body sleek
Her hair with waves of brown
A voice that’s deep but lovely still
You’ll never see her frown

Horses are a part of her
They’re Lea Ann’s truest friend
With buckskin tassels flying free
She gallops round the bend

Craig

Craig’s a hunk, a handsome man
With a boyish grin that gleams
He dresses well in clothes that match
He’s in every woman’s dreams

A nicer man you’ll never find
His kindness shines right through
He’s sweet and so considerate
A man all wish they knew

His love, Lea Ann, will testify
That Craig’s the best there is
And he will say the same of her
He’s hers and she is his

Ron

So tall and large and wonderful
A man with lots to say
Ron will warm your heart with glee
And light your darkest day

A gentle soul, a loving heart
This giant of a man
Will shed a tear from loving eyes
And give like no one can

Ron’s the truest kind of friend
The one we all could use
He’ll tell a joke and make you laugh
And chase away your blues

Dean

A scholar, a true intellect
Our Dean’s the real thing
But sit and talk to him a spell
He’ll make your whole heart sing

His smile’s so big, it fills the room
His laugh; contagious too
And eyes that sparkle as a star
A beauty through and through

He towers high, with strength to spare
Both out and inner shine
He gives so much to everyone
A truer friend, you’ll never find

Allen

Kind and gentle, warm and true
A beauty of a man
Always smiling; giving all
As only Allen can

With heart on sleeve, his love he shares
Expecting nothing more
Open arms and giving heart
He’s one we all adore

A fine musician, Allen is
And sings with heart and soul
He picks and strums on his guitar
Healing; making whole

Laura

Smiles, giggles, brightening eyes
With punk-like hair and clothes
Pink surrounds her everywhere
As only Laura knows

Don’t let her quietness deceive
She can be loud and bold
Just give her drinks and watch her moves
It’s something to behold

She used to let fears hold her down
And keep her bound so tight
But now she’s free and powerful
I’d say she’s done alright.
