POETRY IS A WASTE OF TIME
Poetry is a waste of time,
but then again what isn't a waste?
If you were slow in your prime
we may yet see you making haste.
Slow down, baby, don't be running,
your energy don't consummate,
I thought you were a bit more cunning,
don't leave too early, get there late.
Poetry is for sexy people,
only when they get bored with sex,
each one goes up a high steeple
proclaiming himself a Rex.
But then some lass may get offended,
whether a muse or poetess,
let's leave this question open ended,
and bypass this sterile mess.
Poetry should be for the masses,
but not its own requiem mass,
a lousy sport for lads and lasses,
that's why I'm telling you: Don't rush.
No other art is so pathetic,
though pretty useless they are all,
d' you get my drift in terms poetic?
Slow down and think, then you can LOL.
