You know your poor when...

You wait in the lunch line for free lunch.
You bum a ride from a friend.
You eat leftovers, and make a new dish from those leftovers.
You walk to the store.
You can't pay last month's power bill.
You have creditors calling you for you and even people you don't know.

You know you're poor when...

You cry yourself to sleep, wondering what you'll do for your family.
You worry about any and every little thing happening.
You can't afford even the slightest luxury.
You take luke warm showers.
You save your clothes from last year, and the year before that.
You don't do anything that costs money (so instead you write).

You know you're poor when...

You find yourself humbled and humiliated by a society which thrives on stepping on the fingers and toes of those who are good people, and can't help themselves.

You know you're poor...
