we were listening to whale songs
our laughter flying with the angelfish
i danced amongst the corals
while you played upon a harpoon

your love, you said, was full of porpoise
we shook hands with the starfish and the octopi
and were tired
you stroked my hair with the current

awakening on a racing man o' war
alone, salted, crabby
as i was whisked to the sands
i saw your devotion was nothing but a fluke

Quite interesting...

but then the ancient Greek god of the sea tossed you onto the sands..and said "Be gone girl, I only date mermaids."

— groan — okay, this is a fun little piece, but all this word play's a bit much.
