It’s like you can feel it coming… something clicks and the whole body just becomes electric, so much potential energy that every little inch of skin is self-aware. Just aching to be the one, the spot that makes contact, the place where that latent energy is transformed into motion and heat. Don’t you remember that feeling? When you can’t even focus on anything but the anticipation of the next encounter. When you’re afraid to even breathe because the sensation might stop. Sometimes it’s those premonitions of how the connection might be made that out-fulfill the true interaction. It could hit at any time. Washing dishes- stop- take a deep breath to make it last longer, lean against the counter, close the eyes.
