Warm-blooded
horny man
beating me down
with his unrequited love

Greed and jealousy
draw me to him
like an overprotective mother
afraid to let him go

Like a butterfly from the cocoon
he flees from me
moving from me
like a bee to a sweeter flower

Envious, I watch them love,
longing for what they now have-
what could have been mine
they know not what their love does to my heart

His unwanted love-
now desired, craved
wanting what can never again be mine:
All attention suddenly shifts,
leaving me alone with my regrets.

Another strong poem. Mentioned on the New Poems Review thread in Literotica's Poetry Feedback and Discussion Forum.
