A simple rainbow, complex of nature
Myriad of colours, an array of light
Raindrops as tiny prisms, reflective

Light enters a drop , reflecting for sure
Exiting and a broken spectrum in sight
As in broken glass, a prism, refractive

White sunlight, creating something pure
Created up high, at an amazing height
Many colours seeming to come alive

Red, orange, yellow, for measure
Green, blue, indigo, violet, oh delight
Colour, hue, makes me feel alive

A wish, a rainbow’s end for treasure
Wondrous image, a showery delight
Rainbow; often I wish to relive
