The things we forget
The memories and faces disappearing
Sometimes sadly
Other times far too late
To erase their repercussions
From these solitary lives
They affect so vicariously
I love rap
Adore the cadence
Heavy rhymes striking viciously
To stun our minds
Pompous derision shouldn't mar
The enjoyment of words
Whether clever linguistics
Or jail yard slang
I easily forget Wordsworth
His host of fucking daffodils
But Eminem and Stan reverberate
Around My emptying mind
Teaching Me complex lessons
Through simple lines
Baring Detroit life
In all its hopelessness
Sometimes now it takes an hour
To pull a word from somewhere
Anywhere
Just to elucidate correctly
Fighting against spell check
Typing slow in gray scale
Not as fine as parchment
But lasting for eternity
I have loved words
Nurtured them as if children
Raised them from small beginnings
To control My every thought and action
Expressing more of Me than is left
If truth be told
And words are honest
Only the author lies
I love the way this feels. Very descriptive. I especially like:
I have loved words
Nurtured them as if children
Raised them from small beginnings
Beautiful sentiments, thank you so much for sharing!
