The use of the word "Rape" in the title sets a standard of trauma that "dreams shattered" and "buds gone un-nurtured" do not rise to meet. EVERY childhood can claim those, but not every childhood has been raped.
you address the darkest places, but refrain from sliding into the maudlin. this puts it out there, asking others to open their eyes - but the sorrow that shows through is in the believing most won't. the world is full of dark secrets
