I feel you pull tight and hard on the blindfold
Your hands fumble the rope that binds mine
But I am bound, I can’t interrupt your efforts
You whisper intangible utterances and I am confused
Isn’t this what you want
Isn’t this the way it is meant to happen

I can feel the fear on your breath against my cheek
The slight crack developed in your voice would scare me under any other circumstances
My bound hands rub against the dowel like shape you tethered me to
As you walk away anticipation rages through my entire being

I want to scream “ don’t stop talking to me”
“please, just talk a little , say anything, whatever you want”

I never did hear “Aim, Fire”
