Ready to take a chance again
In despair went by the years
Loving for the sake of loving
Asking only for you to be loyal.
You see we would do all the right things
Picnics, long leisure drives, cuddle, snuggle
One day you didn't come home
I went to bed a Mrs. and woke up a Miss
I was a single parent I inherited two grown children
Six grandchildren, I struggled, but we smile and say it's all right.
I dreamt of somehow, somewhere I would be saved.
Then I got a job, I found I made it through the rain.
I learned I wasn't a Mrs. or a Miss, I was me with my head held high.
I kept my self respect by picking myself up and dusting myself off.
I had eight people that depended on what I was going to do.
My daughter and son deserved a dad.
Our grandchildren deserved a grandpa.
I was Mom, dad, grandpa now for over five years.
Ready to take a chance, perhaps tomorrow?
