I don't really remember
How it happened, but
There we were,
You and I
And the moon,
And it was beautiful;
Not really having a reason,
But there anyway.
It was nighttime,
But just light enough
To see your face
And the gentle curves of your body
Against mine.
Both young
Both a little unsure,
But it all melted away
With the first kiss,
And the rest followed
So naturally.
Sometimes I look
At the shape in my bed,
Lying beside me;
Not yours,
And I remember that night
And I wish that I still
Didn't need a reason.
