Reclaiming Their Throne

October's end was the signal
For a quickening pace;
Faces filled quickly
Hope and joy had their place.

Season's cheer ended
Bereft of its glitter
Tree stands quite barren
Janus' moon brings its gloom.

Come see the faceless
The joyless and despondent
Reclaiming the throne
Of humanity's soul.

What an excellent and original way to describe the pre-season

and seasonal Holiday(s) rush! The faces sure do change come January. Great write!

this is a good one, loved the parallel of the bare tree and the sense of sadness, totally appropriate for the season :)

Everything comes full circle

A touching little write, loved the contrast between the images you've shown here. Lovely stuff.
