i'm sailing along the rapids
high on my own might
wind blowing through my hair
sun-burnished curls
wrapped around my face
confident in my surroundings
serene in my confidence
i flaunt my legs at the shore
and flutter long black eyelashes
eyelids heavy with dark shadow
over gold tinted eyes
pursed red lips
tempting as the sunrise
touched with color
slim body
round curves above
and below
a black skirt whipping in the wind
one hand on my hip
red paint on my nails
strong, beautiful, and glorious
as the red dawn
i may be vulnerable inside
but for now
i ride the rapids
and there is no stopping me.
