Redeemed

Love shivers beneath icy drifts of apathy
Numbed with existence in scripted days
Passion, once so brilliant, stumbles in the dark
Seeking a flickering mirage in the distance

Rage breaks the mournful silence
Her poisoned words crippling our souls
Tears, hot from anger’s cauldron,
Melting the frozen capsules we’ve created

Love gasps under the salty deluge
Determined against an airless death
Hearts, torn with cacophonous beating,
Finding a single rhythm once more
