For redemption is so long
And my soul grows weary
In search of something
Which I may never find.
Does a god go blind with time,
Or does he see
What I've left behind,
Only to close his eyes?
I can cut myself
A thousand times
But I've quit bleeding so long ago
And the scars I've left behind
Are now years that have passed without notice.
Mistakes that don't fade away
Are waiting for me
Back across the countless bridges I've burnt
And I must reach for them,
I must hold them in my hands
If I'm ever to toss them aside
To take instead
That redemption
My heart longs for.
