You live within me, dark, malevolent and
Sucking at my soul, devouring me,
Small bites, rapier quick, a flash of your blade,
The hint of a voice, echoes, in dreams you come,
Bastard, destroyer, I scream, silent in the night,
Seeking relief from invasions, old and new.

You come in as my guards sleep,
Relaxed now, feeling safe, a child’s kiss reassures,
And kindles feelings of safety once more,
No evil lies here,
No half built house this,
The sounds of life fill this house, it is a foreign place to you,
I sleep.

Insidiously you creep, sliding once more to my
Frightened eye, the blade, silvery glowing, toying with
My mind. I feel your mad desire, your battering ram,
Destroyer of pride, of love, you take me,
Hate me all the while, but now, the horror
Ends with muted words, and silent whimpers,

You did not win this battle,
I walk, I breathe life, I bring life, and I love.
You, rot, in fear and loathing, in the belly of the beast,
Fearing I pray, what I felt,
Your screams are unheeded, and your wounds,
Fester, in your ulcerated, puss filled home.
