Roses are red, yellow, and white,
Violets purple and dark as night.
Thank you for the smiles you shared,
And times when it seemed you cared

Music that always made me feel
Such elation I could not conceal;
Words that winged across the globe
Hinted at places we could not go;

I could scarce believe when first told
What would eventually unfold,
Yet into the corners predictions crept,
Past the fortress when I slept.

Perhaps had I ignored their advice,
There would have been joy a few more nights;
Still, for you, I wish the best.
I am smiling now, and I wish you no less.

Forever I'll carry the memory's delight,
Roses are red, yellow, and white.
