I reminisce about days gone by.
Oh how quickly the time has passed.
It slipped away like a thief in the night.
Gone to never reclaim.

I miss the days of my childhood.
The happier times of my youth.
The simplier times of long ago.
When life was fun and carefree.

Life was less complicated.
No heavy sorrows or burdens to bare.
Imagination was there to guide me.
I was full of unlimited dreams.

Now all I feel is sadness.
Drowning in a sea of disillusion.
Caught up in a web darkness.
Oh how I long to escape.

Escape the realities that surround me.
They are just too much to bare.
I feel I am suffocating.
The walls are closing in.

Oh how I miss my youth.
