In the office
Leaning over you with proper pretense
a dozen times more then required
we have both invented reasons
for you to explain something to me
our conversations flow easily

and the black tear drop stone
of my necklace
bumps your arm
like the feelings between us
brilliant and unacknowledged

you reach out
close your hand around it
I ask you
“do you like that”?

You hold on, and I ask you
“are you ok”?

anchored to you now
vision blurred
heart, breath, knees
kissing your palm
the silence decide for us
