(from bartender blues)

richard is a well-dressed man
he sits at the bar
and nurses his scotch
he seems to have some good ideas
but nobody ever listens
i can see the wheels spinning between sips
sometimes he gets a gleam in his eye
and nods his head and smiles
but other times his vision clouds
and he rattles the cubes absently
and swills his dreams away...
thats when i wipe the bar
empty the ashtray
and pour him another drink.
