in flight
gliding
across the highway
reaching the other side
landing in the grass
it scurried
running into the woods
what keeps these birds
so well grounded
having wings
yet not soaring
close to heaven
keeping their feet
on the ground
a road runner
that flys over roads
and runs through
the woods
a woods runner?
