Robins at dawn chirrup along,
a morning full of metronomes,
heads bobbing up and down,

such a pretty sight to see
among the verdant tufts of
pokeweeds in the meadow

casting darkest shadows
over slow poke earthworms
who haven't any knowledge of
why suddenly the sun's above.

Perfect poem for spring!

Such a charming little poem. First, I'm a fan of birds (I have four parakeets haha), so that's why this poem caught my eye. Second, I love short, compact pieces like this that are full of beautiful imagery. Am I wrong to think that the last lines are a comment on the cycle of life?
