Romance, for its own sake
drives us through the fog,
of desire, lust, longing,
confusion, and thoughts of commitment.

It may be in this age of reason
that romance is over rated?
I choose to think not,
in fact I choose to pursue it.

Old fashioned you say?
Not connected with reality?
Perhaps, but I never have to feel guilt
about what the next day, waking, will feel like.

Do I enjoy sex for its own sake?
Sure, I'm not in a coma yet.
I have never turned it down.
But have always felt emotion involved.

Do I enjoy emotions shared?
It certainly heightens any sexual experience.
Would I complain about a sexual experience?
It's doubtful, but one never knows.

I have never paid directly
for what was sexually offered,
but don't we all exact, or spend, a "pound of flesh"
in even the most abstract ways?

I'll have little but memories, when I'm old and withered
but they will at least cause me to smile.
I like it when someone enters my life,
and wants to remain awhile.

The often irreverant, Wolf
