Glowing embers, burning faintly
I feel as they begin to chase me
Everywhere their eyes do vex me
They curse me and they surely hex me
I know not how they came to be
But everywhere they follow me
They show me how the world should be
As it was and as it is and what it will become
They burn me and they penetrate me
Until my mind succumbs
Until my heart goes numb
Until I am quite dumb
Founded by eternal fire
I pour and pour, they don't expire
All intentions melt away
The thin facade they call today
Smoulders all beneath the ash
And right beneath that searing gash
I hear the laughter, taste the tears
Years are running into years
And there I stand, with fiery eyes
I finally see through all the lies
And now I see as I should see
Truth be told you set me free
I love thee
Glowing eyes now cease to follow
All else around me seems so hollow
I finally taste but do not swallow
The poison that has buried thee
