The World; treats her like she's nothing.
She hides inside; she's trembling.
She hides aside, away from light.

The World that doesn't understand her.
She's deeper than her mirror.
Soothing depths, that salves her fright.

Eyeing the world outside with disdain;
bitter thoughts and cheeks still tear stained.
She curses softly and awaits the night.

Perceiving: as shadows, they grow longer.
The darkness makes her stronger.
She smuggles into the twilight.

A rare smile, then running with abandon.
The darkness gives her freedom.
The darkness takes away the light.

She's only ever free at night.
when darkness surrounds the light.
She's only free at night.

She gladly takes the darkness in.
Lets it pet her dew quenched skin.
A lovers touch when no one's around...
she waterloos to the ground.

Stretched naked upon the grassy knoll.
Leaving darkness to compound her soul.
Borrowing vitality to behold...
Six billion mocking points of light.

Ersatz, insular point's of might,
That exist in darkness, yet shine bright.
They're unsympathetic to the plight
of one evanescing point of light.

A flicker...
A fade...
and Sable is bade.

Sable's free at night.

She's the darkness that surrounds the light.

An interesting piece; almost sounds like a stylized description of the sable, a nocturnal creature prized for its fur.
