I confused
my heart
with a phone
and a friend

love of argue
acrid tease

only one
of two
was laughing

_________________

we wear moon coats
with designer slits
slots and slashes

part of getting to know someone
is seeing them fully clothed

some slits are exposed
teasingly,
some brutally buried

some held
above the clouds
where frost coats whole stanzas
freezing meanings

copulating verbs and nouns
have feelings too
