To the past
To the present
To the future

To the darkness known
To the anticipation felt
To the shimmers
In between you both

To fear
To discovery
To settle

To the choices
I need to make

I raise my glass to you
My confusion
To you my need
To you my choice

To the past I see
What the future may hold

To the present I see
The dreams I behold

To the future I see
The past I loathe

Why does confusion
Settle in and hold

I raise the glass to lips so cold
I inhale deeply
To the days of old

Memories flash and turn so fast
Visions of Us
I salute You my past

I roll the taste of dreams still held
The bitter taste
The acid waste
A prophesy perhaps
To the present state

The blood red wine
I stare so intently
Its contents still there
But almost empty

Lost in the silken embrace
That it offers
Tis a loving Illusion
Where cupid does hover

I see your eyes reflected there
I see to the future
That we will share

Oh Christ no way
That is so not fair
To settle with you
In a creaky old chair

The cup is drained
And so am I

Reach for the bottle
A swig on its rim
Searching for answers
Truths light is so dim

No answers there
I throw it away
The choice is left
For another day
