A tome that finds the both of them engaged;
But if he snaps it shut, then will she dare
To picture all they've read and all they've staged:
Those tongues that meet and twist across the bed,
Where they've been reading, focussed on the thought
That, in the chapter coming, he'll have led
Her through a library, where words are caught;
And wrapped and meshed with his, as are her lips,
Since they've prolonged a kiss, while they decide
If mouths should meet again, as the day slips
From afternoon to evening, in its slide
Towards the night, when she'll be his to tame,
While they both read that same page once again...
