Despair this morning,
(winters’ icy whisper.)

I have this need today,
(to not be me.)

Would that I could fake my death,
(just disappear.)

From old habit, debt, and obligation,
(my life as it is.)

Recreate myself on some distant shore,
(your arms my secret sanctuary.)

Where no one knows my true name,
(but you.)

And finally become the real me,
(without the burden of my history.)

the form is rather novel.....

I think I would have preferred italics for the alternate lines rather than parentheses, just for the sake of presentation!
