Screaming silence echoes in our bedroom
Brittle hearts unwilling to bend -
beat alone.
My skin aches ,
feeling too tight for my bones.
please touch me
I don't know where to go,
no refuge in your
crossed arms and gritted teeth.
I crawl into myself-
deeper than you can touch,
so I don't mind so much when you don't try.
Deeper than the loneliness,
so it can no longer steal my breath.
Deeper than the unspoken words that
ping pong in my head, making it pound.
I find cold sanctuary in the stillness inside me-
the silence here only whispers.
