High and low I searched
Under the rocks
Beneath the clover
Then up in the treehouse
And on the branches of the oak

None of these places held you
There were traces that said maybe
I had just missed you
A lingering scent
A seat still warm

Finally in frustration
I closed my eyes
And found you
Resting there in the shadows
Comfortably, casually, at ease
Within the depths of my soul.

A search within

to find what is real. An excellent journey on this search. Very good.

In the shadows

Chasing down ghosts of a memory, always the last place you look ; ) I like how you wrapped this up...nicely done.
