Seasons
With bruised heart shattered,
She watched him leave.
Neither footprint trace, nor shadow to follow.
Fiercely scarred, empty chasm widening.
Bereft, as desert's stark facade.
Her heart a dry autumn leaf, crushed to dust.
For many years, her battered soul hybernating,
She existed.

She awakened to morning birdsong,
Stretching tentatively, focusing.
With diamond illumination, a spark igniting,
Her spirit soared.
Protected, loved and cherished,
And her inner beauty caressed,
She blossomed.

In accepting his love act,
She tasted desire, sparkled under Summer's hot sun.
She laughed, she smiled,
She allowed herself to love.
And in returning her precious gift tenfold,
She lived.
