Soft silhouette of dreams,
Enshroud me in your warmth.
Take my worries, my fears, my sorrow.
Leave me safe; without concern,
That I might rise refreshed.

     Make tranquility my lullaby.

Amorous ambitions of youth,
Bestow my heart with Sapphic delights.
Take my caution, my innocence, my guilt.
Give me but a syncopated heart,
That our symphony might fill my soul.

     Make passion my namesake.

Sweet succulence of triumph,
Carry me onward through peril.
Take my weakness, my strength, my surety.
Send me on the balanced path,
That I might tread gently amidst others.

     Make tolerance my pension.

Beneficent beauty of memory,
Warm through my aching limbs.
Take my regrets, my losses, my pain.
Show me the fruit I have labored,
That it might feed me in hardship.

     Make enlightened my slumber.

I agree with Tess

this poem is prayerlike and fluent. I love its simple, direct appeal.

I see this as.....

...a rather lovely prayer. Nice use of words and good, satisfying flow.
