Sitting on shore
listening to the lap, lap, lap
watching as the boats
with skiers race past

the breeze in the air
nether hot nor cold
long summer days
steady grow old

sunbathers alternate sides
soaking in a few more rays
oblivious it seems
to the changing days

Locusts, Crickets
cry in protest
not ready to die
go to their rest

in the fading green
canopy above
songs flow softly
from a single dove

Mother Earth
sighs in relief
as the Oak, the Maple
begin changing their leaf
