The scent of pine filled the air

as smoke wafted from the blazing flames.

I felt as if I hadn’t a care in the world

as I prodded through the woods.
                  ******
A screech from an owl echoed throughout the night,

and scurrying feet skittered amongst the brushes,

I wished that i could see this wondrous sight,

and wondered little animal was in such a rush!
                    ******

The hazy blue moon seemed enwrapped  in thought,

as if contemplating it’s location in the night  sky,

The trees stood as sentinel, swaying not,

as I reflected on my own thoughts.
                  *******

Growing sleepy, I stretched out, with a yawn

and laid my head back, on the thick mossy grass.

Enjoying the comfort of the great lawn,

As I dreamt of frolicking with Nature’s beasts.
