the jury was out today
only twelve people
stood between us
instead of a whole nation
damnation must not have scared them
just awared them
that we would have been damned
to a life without, with
out, OUT

closeted emotion
makes people angry
and if you've ever seen
a six foot tall queen
singing "I'm Every Woman"
Imagine "These Boots Were Made for Walkin"
the gay version

Yeah, I'm glad you found that funny
cause what's not
is this fact
that only twelve people
stood between me
and a whole country saying
I wasn't worth
liberty
