Though the years I thought you’d leave my mind,
Still you remain.
Seasons have changed and years have passed,
Yet I still dream of you.
The romance we shared haunts my dreams,
And makes my heart beat faster,
Because I know my secret desires can’t be anything more.
Once upon a time I dreamed of a life with you,
Now I wonder if that’s the life I should have had.
I can still taste you and smell your cologne,
If I close my eyes tight enough,
I see yours staring back at me.
Those big blue eyes I use to look deeply into,
Are now just memories.
Secret desires that fill my mind,
Are now invading my heart,
As I wonder why we are apart.
Soul mates I know we are,
Yet time has taken that away.
I wonder if you feel today,
The same way you did when we were so young.
I remember your touch,
And still shiver thinking of it,
I loved you too much,
And had to let you go.
My secret desires will hold you close,
While in distance you are far,
All I can hope is that you are happy,
Wherever you are!
