If at first
I withdraw,
Do not believe
I do deceive.

Fear is strong,
Doubt is high.
My face is calm
my mind racing.

Constant friend,
Secret crush,
I seek your lust,
But fear rejection.

To give voice,
To state thoughts,
It gives me pause,
Keeps my silence.

Always yours,
Never yours.
It cannot be,
It will not work.

Do not tease,
I might crack.
You gave a look,
Made me tremble.

Does she know?
Could she see?
I'd bare my soul
But fear the worst.

Pathetic.
It is true.
Feels so childish
To have this crush.

In my mind,
Secreted away,
We share a love
That cannot live.

In silence
I will love,
Since with my truth
Could chase her away.

Loving from afar
Holding in dreams.
It's better to ache
Than feel the loss.

'Tis better, this.
Only I know.
It would kill me
To chase you away.

It's well known,
This friend zone.
It's where I live
And always have.

Goodbye now,
See you soon.
We'll be together
In dreams tonight.
