I know that I have
reached into the
most secret
place in you,
you,
whose flesh is my
flesh,
whose thought is my
thought.

And yet, in my
deepest despair,
I turn inward
and injure you.

In my torment,
torment you.
In my agony,
agonize you.

And I weep over
the scabs
and leaking wounds
that I sliced into
you.

When I punish myself,
I punish you,
I weep and weep,
that you are a
a victim of
my sorrows.

I know that I
have reached into you
and touched the
fathoms of your
soul
and the sky of
your eyes.

Knowing
I can reach inward
and touch you
has strengthened me,
and has given me
hope that is your
hope,
and has opened your
heart which is my
heart.
