"like breathing" he says to her
"like our very breath it is"
her eyes hold magic deep within their greenness
to him ~ she breathes
her voice, soft rain
his, rolling, distant thunder

some deep spell is lingering here
sparkling trail of stars between them

(wishing stars they are
the world whispers darkest dreams
to their brightness
they sink away into the inky night
unhearing)

the wind blows strong in her heart
stirring the stars ~ turning them to dust
she breathes

the wind calls him by name
calls him to dance
he breathes

somewhere in the night, a cry rises to
catch the stars unawares
they blink and dance
and the wind stirs, echoing the cry
to their eyes
as they breathe

ripples of wind like water drench
their forms as they breathe
themselves into the sky
wasted wishes fall
like the cry
into the empty night

the rain begins
softly falling on her face
then wrapping her in power
thunder and lightning fill the night
her skin is blue reflected flashing
and she breathes

the wind begins
to sing of rain and stars
and breath
breath connected becoming wind
becoming rain
and turning stars, those empty stars
their breath turns them to dust
